LignoLa-Bor
Measurement of moisture-content of wood and building materials
We have developed our device called LIGNO-LA-BOR for measuring the moisture-content of wood. In the meantime there was a demand on the measuring of the moisture-content of certain building materials as well, such as concrete of different quality, gypsum, esztrichts and raw materials. By changing the characteristic we could solve that with the same device we can measure its moisture-content as well.
Please find below the description on the measuring of wood:
The LIGNO LA-BOR device ranks the wood to be measured among 20 species of wood. The first 4 groups (1.-4 species of wood) include all the frequent species of wood (see the book ?Drying and steaming of timber written by László Petrin dr.) and on the top of that we competed it by further species of wood that are also used frequently (5-20 species of wood). All the groups are indicated on the attachment. The device automatically assures the compensation of the moisture-content temperature by an internal thermometer. The device operates either by a battery of 9 V or an accumulator of 8,4V. It shows the measured valued on LCD of 4 digits. On the front panel of the device there are 2 buttons by which we can operate the instrument. When you start measuring, you have to push the button ?%? (on the display you will see 4 horizontal lines, then the measured value in % soon). The button with the sign of a tree is used for the setting-up of the adequate sort of wood. In case you push both buttons, the temperature is shown in °C. If you stop pushing the buttons, in a short time the device has a stand-by status.
